We were... read more late leaving the tour office, so we didn't get to spend as much time at the Sistine Chapel (we had to leave promptly at the end of the tour). The tour guide was lovely, but I felt more attention could have been paid to other areas. We spent a lot of time looking at signs and not as much time seeing the actual art, and you could see people zoning out occasionally.

The meeting point was easy to find and the group size was quite small. We met out... read more guide Elaine and began the short walk to St Peter's.
Once inside Elaine gave us many fascinating facts about all the statues and the scale of the Basilica.
We then had another short walk to the museum, where once again we never queued for long and were guided around the museum given loads of great facts. The museum is so vast that days could be spent inside looking at everything if that is your thing.
Elaine showed us the highlights and we felt that we had seen plenty.
Finally the Sistine chapel. Elaine explained the pictures before we entered, this was a great help in understanding the history of this amazing place.
Well worth booking if you find yourself in Rome.
Radios were provided throughout the tour to make sure you can here all that is being said.
Definitely worth taking a guided tour, so much information is given that otherwise you wouldn't know.
