Booking was straightforward on TA. We took the metro from Termini... read more station, got off at Octaviano station and there were about 10 minute walk to the office to check in for the tour.

A little before 12pm a group of 30 people or so had been gathering ready to go. Giuliano was our guide and he made sure to introduce himself to everyone which was nice. His English is great.

He kicked off the tour by gathering the group nearby and gave an explanation of Michelangelo’s paintings in the Sistine Chapel. It’s because it’s not allowed to talk in the Chapel.

We skipped all the lines to get inside the museum where we collected the audio receivers and earphones.

The visit was amazing. A lot to see and we were glad not to have to wait in long lines. Even in winter the place was crowded to full capacity.

Giuliano did a fine job providing interesting information about the artefacts, history of the buildings, and more.

We also got much closer than usual to all of the sights. Our host was very knowledgeable and attentive and had excellent English. He also had a passion for the subject which shone throughout the tour. Can't recommend highly enough!

But this was my father in laws first time and we... read more wanted to make sure he got the most out of it as possible. So we booked the skip the line tour, and we are so glad we did. The tour guide was great. It is a long tour, but then there is a lot to see, and the guide kept our attention throughout the entire three hours. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. And the skip the line part is a huge perk. The lines are always so long, and if you are traveling in the summer months, it's hot. It even rained while we were walking to the Vatican so standing out there would not have been enjoyable. But our tour guide made it so. I highly recommend you book this tour!
