There is also a lack of description on most of the exhibits so unless you have studied the subject in depth, you really may not know what you’re looking at. Headsets are provided in the museum. Would have been lost without this tour. And you really do skip the line!

On the tour, we had the pleasure of Norman who immediately made the group at ease and was great in getting the group engaged right from the start. Norman was a fantastic tour guide throughout and was highly informed and encouraged questions. At each stopping point, he talked with passion and interest and was highly entertaining as well as informative.

She was incredibly knowledgeable and took all kinds of questions.... read more She covered academics, history, details of much of the artwork but it was all done in a fascinating way full of humour. The tour goes through rooms in the Vatican leading to the Sistine chapel (you aren’t allowed to talk inside so the guide explains everything in advance which great). The tour then moved via a special route for guided groups to St Peter’s Basilica where it concludes. If you do the English tour in the morning don’t book another tour afterwards because once the tour ends you can spend more time wandering around the Basilica. Amil explained that we could go down in the crypt (free) or climb into the dome (10 euros to take lift before climbing the rest on foot). Definitely do this- there’s a cafe up on the roof with great views.

Other tour guides can be informative but very dry, like a school lecture. ... read more But Marco made it entertaining, interesting, and we all learned a lot! The tour ends inside the Vatican Museum, so you can take your time browsing the rest of the gigantic museums within a museum at your own pace. 100% recommend!

He is clear, eloquent, and... read more articulate. He is pleasant as well and cares about his group that he ensures everyone are accounted for before he moves on to another bldg. In addition, he gives an overview of what to expect when we enter the bldg and he starts giving history before entering the bldg which make it more meaningful. You can see his passion when he gives a lesson about a particular piece of art or history. I enjoyed my experience and I learned a lot during the tour. I highly recommend this tour companyo!
